Azerbaijan and the World Bank discussed the financing of small and medium enterprises, reports Azernews.
The discussion took place during a meeting between the President of the Azerbaijan Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, Orkhan Mammadov, who is on a business trip to Washington, and the Executive Director of the World Bank, Katarzyna Zajdel Kurowska.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the implementation of joint initiatives with the World Bank, and opportunities to participate in various programs and projects of the bank.
The agency’s president also held a meeting with the knowledge management manager of the SME Finance Forum, Khrystyna Kushnir.
In addition, Orkhan Mammadov also exchanged views on cooperation issues with the US Office of International Trade Director Matthew Edwards and the Trade Policy Office of Small Business Administration Director Christine Brown.
During a roundtable on “Doing Business with Azerbaijan: Opportunities and Incentive Programs for American and Azerbaijani Companies” held in Washington, the opportunities to expand business relations between SMEs of the two countries, the implementation of joint cooperation and promotional measures in this direction were discussed.
