Updates from Angelina Jolie: Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has filed a new court document in hopes of getting rid of her stake in the French wine business with her ex-husband Brad Pitt. The actress wants the court to lift a temporary freeze on the sale of joint assets.
Jolie reached out to Pratt’s team and requested an informal session rather than a formal court session, who said they would be in contact but no arrangement has been made yet. Brad has been thrilled since he obtained 50/50 custody of their 5 minor children. Jolie was disappointed with the decision and wants to fight again in court over it.
The Oscar winner recently filed documents asking for a judge to issue a lifetime asset transfer prohibition order, which is imposed when a divorce is filed. Her lawyer says Jolie’s company and Brad’s company Mondo Bongo LLC are equal shareholders.
What did Angelina Jolie share?
The Oscar winners couldn’t agree on the buyout price. She has an offer on the table, according to her lawyer. She is worried about the buyer’s withdrawal at the last moment and wants the forbearance order lifted. Château Miraval has both financial and sentimental value for the couple since they were married on their estate in 2014.
Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 and in May 2021, Pitt was granted joint custody of their children. Jolie was recently spotted with The Weeknd having dinner. On June 30, she filed an ex parte request for the lifting of the ATROs, but this was denied “for lack of evidence of immediate danger / irreparable damage or immediate loss / damage to property”.
Her lawyer says it’s urgent because she has to sign the exclusivity agreement, promising not to “buy the deal” elsewhere. Both parties are actively working to make the deal go smoothly, but Jolie seems a little too active on this as she wants to sell her shares by unloading as soon as possible.
