As 2023 dawns, Gartner calls for convergence, resilience and profitability
In its new report, the Magic Quadrant 2022™ for access management, Gartner® draws attention to the increasingly critical role of access management in the enterprise, as well as the fact that it has become a prime target for attackers. The essence of the report reveals that modern threats and economic constraints demand more resilient and cost-effective access management.
It has become clear that enterprises need to evolve their CIAM and workforce strategies to reduce risk, create efficiencies, and support all of their use cases.
In its Magic Quadrant report, Gartner provides a summary of all of its research into access management products, vendors, and industry trends. This year’s report highlighted several trends, including the need for identity threat detection and response (ITDR) to protect against breaches caused by misuse of credentials, which now account for 40% of all violations. Gartner has also identified journey orchestration as a way to reduce risk, cost, and complexity. Weak and compromised passwords remain a huge threat, and Gartner has drawn attention to the need for passwordless, phishing-resistant authentication. Finally, the report highlighted the need for convergent platforms, which improve security and create cost savings.
